Chef Tom always has a different special for Friday nights as well. Come sit on our balcony that overlooks the Par 3 hole 7 on the golf course and enjoy a pint of your favorite craft beer while enjoying your entree, the view and our remarkable service.

Before or after your fish fry, come learn about one of the most important ingredients in flavoring your favorite craft beer- HOPS! The Oaks has a two acre working hop farm and Farmer John will be giving tours at 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

We’ve named the brew, BADGER PALE ALE. Made from Meixelsperger, Clarson, Eilenfelt & Albers hops all grown here in the Badger State! This deep golden brew with orange hues is an American style pale ale that was double dry hopped to add desirable hop flavor like citrus & grapefruit without adding bitterness to the beer. It’s well balanced & on the lighter side of most beers of this style…should make you want to “Roll out the Barrel”! (ABV 5.5%)

WHEx [Wisconsin Hop Exchange] has two processing facilities in Wisconsin—in Stevens Point and Waterloo, where the Clarsons take their hops. They believe that the WHE is the most user-friendly co-op because others make the growers responsible for much of the hops processing at home. With the WHE, the grower harvests the whole plant and takes it to the co-op to be dried. This way there is less investment and less chance of costly mistakes, making it easier on the growers.

Hop Farm Pale Ale is gaining a loyal following at the Grumpy Troll Brewery. Hop Farm is quickly becoming one of the most ordered beers at the Grumpy Troll.

The Grumpy Troll first released Hop Farm Pale Ale with Hops from the Wisconsin Hop Exchange in December of 2011.  The hops used in this local brew came from local Wisconsin Family Farms that are members of the Wisconsin Hop Exchange.

Look for other beers being made with Wisconsin Hop comming soon.

Please Join Wisconsin Hop Exchange at the Annual Business Meeting.  The meeting will be held at the Dells Brewing Company in The Wisconsin Dells on January 19th.  This is also Moose Jaw Pizza and Brew Pub.  The Dells Brewing company will produce a new 100% Wisconsin Hopped Beer that will be introduced at the meeting.  We will invite the general public to join us at 4 pm for a “Beer Release” Party.  Wisconsin Hop Exchange members will be available to visit with anyone interested in hops or joining the Wisconsin Hop Exchange.

The Wiscsonsin Hop Exchange hosted a Beer Introduction at the Great Dane.  The Board of Directors along with several growers hosted interested people from as far away as La Crosse, Wisconsin.  Most were interested in learning more about hops, but some where also interested in growing hops.  The Wisconsin hop Exchange member growers were busy all night answering questions about hops and how we grow them.  All along sampling the Great Dane’s HopSconsin.  There were many Tee Shirts and free HopSconsin Beer tickets given out in drawings every half hour.  If you still have not tried HopSconsin yet, you had better get to the Great Dane fast, sounds like it will be gone soon!

Getting High Quality Hops from Wisconsin

Tin Man Brewing Company from Evensville, Indiana is the latest Brewery to purchase Hop’s from the Wisconsin Hop Exchange.  Head Brewer Sean O’Rear is running test batches at this time and will be picking the top recipies to start brewing later this summer.  We look forward to working with Sean at Tin Man.
